Key Points from the Sermon:
1. Stand to Be Weird
In a society that often pressures us to conform, standing for God may seem strange. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to the golden statue, showing that living by a different standard requires His power.
2. Stand and Be Committed
When Nebuchadnezzar challenged their commitment, these men didn’t look for loopholes; they made up their minds beforehand to stand for God, trusting in His ability to deliver them, even if it meant facing death.
3. Stand on Your Faith
When their faith was tested in the fiery furnace, they were not alone. God walked with them through the fire, demonstrating that He may not keep us out of trials but is always with us in them.
4. Stand, To God Be the Glory
After witnessing their faith, Nebuchadnezzar proclaimed that there is no other God who can rescue in this way. Their stand brought glory to God, showing that our lives should point others to Him.
Reflective Questions:
1. Are you standing for God in your life?
2. Do your words, attitudes, and actions point people to God?

Defining Moments: Your Kingdom Come, part of our Defining Moments series, explores how prayer connects us to God and keeps us grounded amidst cultural chaos. Pastor Brian teaches from Daniel 2, focusing on God’s sovereignty and how, just as Daniel trusted God in difficult times, we too can lean into prayer, humility, and faith.
Key Points from the Sermon:
1. Prayer Connects Us to the One in Control
Jesus prayed, Daniel prayed, and we are called to pray, as prayer keeps us connected to the One who is truly in control of all things. In a world full of uncertainty, prayer is our direct line to God’s sovereignty. (Matthew 6:9-13)
2. Trusting in God's Sovereignty
Even when faced with the impossible, like Daniel interpreting the king's dream, God remains in control. Daniel trusted God in both natural and supernatural circumstances, and we, too, are called to trust Him in every situation. (Daniel 2:1-13)
3. God Makes the Impossible Possible
Daniel’s humility, dependence on God, and obedience led to God revealing the dream’s meaning, proving that what is impossible for man is possible for God. Our role is to remain faithful and dependent on Him. (Daniel 2:14-35)
4. The Rise and Fall of Empires—God’s Kingdom Will Stand Forever
Though earthly kingdoms rise and fall, God's Kingdom will never fail. Daniel’s vision of the statue represents the empires that would come and go, but it reminds us that our ultimate hope is in God's eternal Kingdom. (Daniel 2:36-49)
5. The Church's Role in Encouraging One Another
As the body of Christ, we are called to stir each other up to live faithfully for King Jesus. Gathering as a church strengthens us, encouraging us to keep our focus on God’s Kingdom. (Hebrews 10:19-25)

Defining Moments | Navigating Cultural Chaos | 10.6.2024
Monday Oct 07, 2024
Monday Oct 07, 2024
Defining Moments: Navigating Cultural Chaos, part of our "Defining Moments" series, delves into the cultural chaos we face as Christians and how our identity in Christ allows us to stand firm. Using the story of Daniel and his friends in Daniel 1:1-21, Pastor Brian explores the importance of staying true to who we are in Christ, no matter where we are.
Key Points from the Sermon:
1. God’s Sovereignty and Grace: Even in exile, Daniel and his friends remained confident in God's sovereignty and grace. This same truth applies to us today in the midst of cultural pressures.
2. The Power of Identity: Daniel’s refusal to accept Babylon’s identity for him (Daniel 1:8) highlights the importance of knowing who we are in Christ. As Christians, our purpose is our identity in action.
3. The Renaming of Daniel and His Friends: The enemy sought to rename Daniel and his companions, but their trust in God allowed them to reject those labels. This reminds us that the names and labels others give us don’t define our worth or purpose (Daniel 1:1-7).
4. Standing Up with Conviction, Graciousness, and Faith: Daniel’s stand against the king’s food demonstrated his deep conviction and faith. He was able to do so graciously and with wisdom, trusting God to honor his faithfulness (Daniel 1:8-16).
5. Excellence and Unity in the Face of Chaos: Despite the cultural pressures around them, Daniel and his friends stood out for their excellence and integrity, shining brightly for God in a foreign land. They also stood together, reminding us of the strength in unity (Daniel 1:17-21).

In today’s sermon, Pastor Brian continues our "First Things First" series with “Who Is My Neighbor?” This powerful message digs into the teachings of Jesus from Luke 10, highlighting the importance of loving God and loving others. Pastor Brian explores the parable of the Good Samaritan, revealing how true compassion reflects Christ's love in our daily lives.
Key Points from the Sermon:
Authority in Christ: The 72 disciples returned with joy, realizing that even demons submitted to them in Jesus' name. Jesus reminded them to rejoice not in their power, but in the fact that their names are written in heaven (Luke 10:17-24).
A Gospel-First Life: Jesus rejoiced in the Father’s will, praising God for revealing His truth to those with childlike faith. A life centered on the Gospel secures eternal life (Luke 10:21-24).
The Greatest Commandment: When asked how to inherit eternal life, Jesus affirmed the command to love God fully and to love your neighbor as yourself (Luke 10:25-28).
The Good Samaritan: In the parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus teaches that our neighbor is anyone in need, and true love is demonstrated through mercy and compassion (Luke 10:29-37).
Mission of Love: Our mission is clear: love God and love all people in our pathway, just as Christ has loved us (John 13:34-35).
Special Highlights:

Are you ready to multiply the impact of what God has given you? In today’s sermon, Pastor Brian dives into the importance of abiding in Christ and investing your time, talent, and treasure with "First Things First: Trust Fund." This message explores how placing God first in all areas of your life allows His blessings to flow abundantly.
Key Points from the Sermon:
1. God’s Math Multiplies: When we abide in Christ, we bear much fruit, as seen in John 15:1-5. God’s pruning process enables us to grow spiritually and be more fruitful.
2. God Expects Us to Multiply What He Has Given Us: The parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30) teaches us the responsibility of multiplying our God-given resources.
3. Identity in Christ: Our worth is found in Christ, not in our achievements, possessions, or what others say (Ephesians 2:4-10).
4. Preparation for His Coming: The parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1-13) reminds us to stay ready and watchful for Christ’s return.
5. Generosity Starts with God: All we have comes from God, and our giving reflects that. 1 Chronicles 29:14 shows that our treasure, talent, and time are to be multiplied for God’s kingdom.
