Christmas Stories: “Life-giving”
Key Points from the Sermon:
- When we come out of hiding, we find the life-giver. [Luke 1:39-41; Psalm 139:11-16; John 11:25-26]
- We are created to be in life-giving community.
- We are given physical life in the womb and find spiritual life through Jesus’ empty tomb.
- When we are found by the life-giver, we become life-giving. [Luke 1:41-56; 1 Samuel 10:20-22]
- God has given you spiritual gifts to be life-giving.
- Worship is “looking up” in God’s presence, which changes the present.
- Mary’s worship “play list” included these attributes of God:
- God is Lord.
- God is my Savior.
- God sees me.
- God redeems me.
- God is mighty and Holy.
- God is merciful to those who fear Him.
- God is powerful and just.
- God is generous.
- God is a helper.
- God is historically faithful.
Next Step Questions:
1. Do you know the life-giver and are you life-giving?
2. Are you hiding from community, from God, or from using your spiritual gifts?
3. Will you choose to worry less and worship more like Mary?

Christmas Stories: “Origin Stories”
Key Points from the Sermon:
- Origin stories help us rediscover our wonder at God’s presence. [Luke 1:1-25]
- The intersection of our stories and God’s presence is often ordinary life.
- Responding without faith: “How shall I know this?"
- God’s presence will always turn us towards Jesus. [Luke 1:26-34]
- We are to be a people that takes our first step forward towards Jesus.
- Responding with faith: “How will this be?”
- God’s presence provides everything we need as we trust and obey. [Luke 1:35-38]
- The impossible is possible when we live the “with God life”.
- True discipleship is submitting to God’s word, and will, as His servant.
Next Step Questions:
1. Will you turn towards Jesus today and decide to follow Him?
2. How can you take time to be in His presence and do life “with God”?
3. Will you make time to come into His presence and say, “let it be to me”?

Defining Moments: “The Perfect Ending”
Key Points from the Sermon:
- Prayer and prophecy are designed for us to dig deeper and grow with God. [Daniel 8-11]
- Prayer and prophecy position us to receive the life Jesus offers. (John 3:16; 1 John 4:1-4)
- The perfect ending includes rescue, resurrection, and reward. [Daniel 12:1-4, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:4-6]
- The rapture, tribulation, and resurrection are realities that will bring everyone to their knees.
- We live in the space between, and we are to shine brightly for Him. [Daniel 12:3; Matthew 5:14-16]
Five ways to shine brightly: [Jeremiah 29:5-14]

- Seek the shalom (yours and theirs)
- Ignore the lies (turn off the noise)
- Trust God’s truth (turn up the truth)
- Pray and search for God (put God first)

- Will you live out the five ways to shine brightly?
- Will you decide to believe, receive, and follow Jesus today?
