Key Points from the Sermon:
1. If you follow Christ, you will be challenged. [Daniel 6:1-9; Colossians 3:23-24; 1 Peter 2:13-17]
God’s people in culture are meant to (Daniel 1-6):
- Bless and polarize the nations.
- Be in the world, but not of it.
- Be salt and light by spending daily time with God.
- Have a personal, but not private faith.
- Trust that God knows where you are.
- Be defiant when told to disobey God.
2. Staying consistently connected to Christ provides character, conviction, and courage. [Daniel 6:10-13; Romans 8:26-28]
3. Christ defeats, and delivers us, from the “lions in life”. [Daniel 6:14-28; 1 Peter 5:6-11]
Next Step Questions:
1.Will you turn over the “lion(s) in your life” to Jesus today?
2.Will you receive all that Jesus has for you today?

Key Points from the Sermon:
1. When God sets our standard, we will know when to stand. [Daniel 4:1-12]
2. Pride precedes our fall, but God intercedes when we call. Pride often causes us to defend rather than extend . [Daniel 4:34-37; James 4:6-10]
3. Pride binds us to our work and blinds us to God’s work. [Daniel 5:1-9]
4. Walls will fall as we let Jesus rewrite our stories. [Daniel 5:13-23; Ephesians 2:13-14]
The three charges against the king:
Pride (Daniel 5:22)
Defiance (Daniel 5:23)
Idolatry (Daniel 5:23)
5.The anecdote for pride is found at the foot of the cross. [Daniel 5:24-31; Philippians 2:8-11]
Reflective Questions:
1. Will you recognize the handwriting on the wall and turn to God?
2. Will you turnover_______ to Jesus and let Him re-write your story?

Key Points from the Sermon:
1. Stand to Be Weird
In a society that often pressures us to conform, standing for God may seem strange. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refused to bow to the golden statue, showing that living by a different standard requires His power.
2. Stand and Be Committed
When Nebuchadnezzar challenged their commitment, these men didn’t look for loopholes; they made up their minds beforehand to stand for God, trusting in His ability to deliver them, even if it meant facing death.
3. Stand on Your Faith
When their faith was tested in the fiery furnace, they were not alone. God walked with them through the fire, demonstrating that He may not keep us out of trials but is always with us in them.
4. Stand, To God Be the Glory
After witnessing their faith, Nebuchadnezzar proclaimed that there is no other God who can rescue in this way. Their stand brought glory to God, showing that our lives should point others to Him.
Reflective Questions:
1. Are you standing for God in your life?
2. Do your words, attitudes, and actions point people to God?

Defining Moments: Your Kingdom Come, part of our Defining Moments series, explores how prayer connects us to God and keeps us grounded amidst cultural chaos. Pastor Brian teaches from Daniel 2, focusing on God’s sovereignty and how, just as Daniel trusted God in difficult times, we too can lean into prayer, humility, and faith.
Key Points from the Sermon:
1. Prayer Connects Us to the One in Control
Jesus prayed, Daniel prayed, and we are called to pray, as prayer keeps us connected to the One who is truly in control of all things. In a world full of uncertainty, prayer is our direct line to God’s sovereignty. (Matthew 6:9-13)
2. Trusting in God's Sovereignty
Even when faced with the impossible, like Daniel interpreting the king's dream, God remains in control. Daniel trusted God in both natural and supernatural circumstances, and we, too, are called to trust Him in every situation. (Daniel 2:1-13)
3. God Makes the Impossible Possible
Daniel’s humility, dependence on God, and obedience led to God revealing the dream’s meaning, proving that what is impossible for man is possible for God. Our role is to remain faithful and dependent on Him. (Daniel 2:14-35)
4. The Rise and Fall of Empires—God’s Kingdom Will Stand Forever
Though earthly kingdoms rise and fall, God's Kingdom will never fail. Daniel’s vision of the statue represents the empires that would come and go, but it reminds us that our ultimate hope is in God's eternal Kingdom. (Daniel 2:36-49)
5. The Church's Role in Encouraging One Another
As the body of Christ, we are called to stir each other up to live faithfully for King Jesus. Gathering as a church strengthens us, encouraging us to keep our focus on God’s Kingdom. (Hebrews 10:19-25)
